Lookie, lookie. I have my very own Lolcat!
What's a girl to do when I have this beast to deal with on a daily basis?
Well, well, it's been a bit of a while since I've posted last. The weeks have seemed to fly by. There were good times and too much time wasted on being sick. And I'm still sick! I'm fighting bronchitis at the moment, as if the flu last week wasn't enough. I am now a talk show junkie. I'm addicted to it! This is quite unlike me though. But hey, when you're stuck in bed what else is there to do? I haven't felt like looking at a computer screen in weeks until today, which is unlike me even more so as I do most of my work online. I am lucky to have such a wonderful cuddle buddy though:
See? Being stuck in bed isn't all that bad. Even though I've had to miss work and classes. I guess I can consider it a vacation for my body. I have been craving sleep and rest more than I ever have. But I am antsy. I miss painting and writing and working on my art, and simply being able to do whatever I want whenever I want. Anyway, let me blog about my fun weekend away in CT from the 12th to the 14th.
My dearest and amazing friends invited me to go camping in CT with them to watch their friend race at the speedway. There were many different kinds of races, something I had never seen in person before. Basically, I'm hooked. A super fan of the supermods in fact :D Maybe it was having the pit pass that turned me into a fan. Either way, the entire experience of camping in a tent with 4 other people and drinking and mingling with many others, and seeing the races was too much fun.
Just a select few photos hehe. I love my Nikky so much. If there's one good thing I can say about my retail job from hell is that it brought this girl and I together. And she lives 5 minutes from me! Which means I'm there at least once a week, which I need because she's beyond the best. The weeked away was crazy. We met up with a handful of other people and enjoyed ourselves quite right...drinks being opened after breakfast (and all day and night), awesome steak tips on the grill, huddling around the fire, taking aimless walks and running from creepy dudes, meeting super drunk race junkies, even watching the Sox game in the van on a little tv (yah that game that went into extra innings, that we didn't win, but hey it doesn't matter because hello world series!!!). It was nice to be away for three days with nature and good friends. I already want to go again.
Other than that fun getaway, I partied with friends at home when I wasn't sick, wrote too many poems for my poetry class and had to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind for my other class (which is my favorite movie ever, good thing I've seen it twenty times already). And even more fun awaits! Which is why I need to get better asap. This week I have plans with my lovelies to do some pumpkin-halloween-hayride fun as well as a girl's night out on the town crashing all the clubs doing the costume thing. Oh and Halloween night? SALEM! I cannot wait. So far it's a good group of us going, and I shall be Little Red (twisted) Riding Hood. I always have to put my twist on things, making the character creepy and morbid, but it's Halloween afterall. This was last year:
Haha, we get so into it. She was the Queen of Hearts and I was the "bad" version of Alice in Wonderland. This year she is being Snow White, which is too cute. Those from New England know that Salem, Mass is the place to be on Halloween night. It is basically a party in the streets, tons of people everywhere, drunk, dressed up, loud, and all in good fun. And of course there is tons of all that spooky witchy creepy stuff to see as well.
And moving on, I have been working on new art pieces and a collaboration with a wonderful online store. I have many projects to complete, I'm infamous for starting projects....but I hope to be back with another post soon relating to new art and journal work. I also want to say a Hello, Hello! to those of you who have recently added me. Upon checking my inbox lately I was shocked to see so many adds! Then it hit me...one of my journal pages had made the Explore page. Vox is too much fun. Hope all are well!
Coughs & Love, Mae Jane
Today, I took a sick day from work, as I was feeling...ill. So I stayed home, took naps, worked on the website a bit, talked to some friends, and received the most fantastic and hilarious news of the day, heck, the month even.
Apparently someone drove IN TO the Old Navy that I slave away at. This female driver (no surprise there) lodged her car through the doors, and ended up inside the building. Luckily no one was hurt, but this happened on the day I call out, go figure!
In other news, I don't have much else to say. I also went outside to observe some foliage this morning. That was neat, heh. Now I'm going to curl up on zee couch with zee kitty and moleskine journal. Mmm.

since last thursday i've been rather ill feeling. strange creepy pains that keep me confined to the bed. today and yesterday have been the worst, forcing me to call out of work twice. ack. about an hour ago the pain subsided so i was able to get up and make myself something to eat & grab the mail: new nylon, let's see if it's any good, i haven't been pleased lately. i was feeling rather pathetic and pitiful being confined to the bed and all, so i decided to make the most of it. blue tights and my dad's old coast guard tee make me feel a bit better, in my mind at least. if i have to be blue and under the weather, i'll do it in my own style. so i took some celebratory pictures, since i was able to stand and all without pain. notice my crazy mess on the bed of a tissue, a laptop, trays, masking tape, folders, books, and paper. i hate not being able to accomplish anything. so i draw. i'll be posting them later. they're cute i swear.
onward:
